Sesame Tofu Lo Mein

Ingredients:

1 Block GC Extra Firm Tofu

3 Cups of Cut Vegetables

  • Mushroom
  • Celery
  • Green and Red Bell Peppers
  • Carrot
  • Red Onion
  • Cabbage
  • Broccoli

5 Tbsp Sesame Oil

3 Tbsp Tahini

3 Tbsp Soy Sauce

1 Tbsp Ginger Paste

1 Tbsp Garlic Paste

2 tsp Sriracha Hot Sauce

1 Tbsp Tapioca Starch

1/2 Cup Water

3 tsp Salt

Preparation:

  1. Break tofu block into rough chunks.
  2. Coat with 2 Tbsp of sesame oil and 1 tsp of salt.
  3. Oven bake at 400F until all sides are crispy golden brown.
  4. Cook 2 servings of chow mein noodles until soft.
  5. In a large heavy pan, heat of sesame oil and sauté the onion, mushroom, carrot, cabbage and celery.
  6. After a couple of minutes add the peppers and broccoli.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining salt and close the lid for 3 mins. This softens up the vegetables a little bit.
  8. In a mixing jar, add all the sauce ingredients. Mix well with water.
  9. Pour the sauce mixture into the veggies and stir gently.
  10. Toss in the roasted tofu into the sauce and veggies.
  11. Now add the coked soft noodles and combine everything well until evenly coated.
  12. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  13. Serve hot with sesame seeds garnished.
